PAC KAYAK REDFISH MARATHON SERIES - 2017

This is a tournament where you have five days out of each month to get a stringer of 3 slot redfish for 12 months starting in February.

JOIN US FOR THE JOURNEY AND THE LAST DAY TO FISH IN THE REDFISH MARATHON SERIES WILL BE AT THE PAC KAYAK POLAR CHALLENGE ON JANUARY 13, 2017.

EVENT INFORMATION AN OFFICIAL RULES

For the PAC KAYAK REDFISH MARATHON SERIES the stringer is 3 slot redfish.

You will have a five day window each month, out of the five dates you pay your entry fee is the day you weigh-in. So, what that means is you can pre-fish 1,2,or 3 days, but, somewhere in the 5 days you must pay your entry and weigh-in. YOU MUST FISH AT LEAST 8 MONTHS OUT OF THE 12 MONTHS!!

FEBRUARY: 3-7

MARCH: 17-21

APRIL: 14-18

MAY: 26-30

JUNE: 23-27

JULY: 14-18

AUGUST: 11-15

SEPTEMBER: 15-19

OCTOBER: 13-17

NOVEMBER: 10-14

DECEMBER: 8-12

JANUARY IS THE ONLY MONTH THAT YOU WILL HAVE ONLY ONE DAY TO FISH AND WEIGH-IN. THAT DAY WILL BE JANUARY 13, 2018. THE SAME DAY AS OUR PAC KAYAK POLAR CHALLENGE.

GENERAL RULES:

PFD REQUIREMENT:

WHILE AFLOAT YOU MUST PROPERLY WEAR A U.S. COAST GUARD APPROVED PFD AT ALL TIMES. ANYONE NOT WEARING YOUR PFD WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FOR THAT MONTH OF THE TOUR, NOT THE SERIES. DISQUALIFICATION WILL BE DETERMINED BY PAC KAYAK BASED ON INVESTIGATION OF ANY SPECIFIC INCIDENT.

ENTRY FEE / PAYOUTS:

Entry fee is $30.00. That includes launch fee for the day you weigh-in for that month.

75% of the event purse is paid out to the winners at the polar challenge, JANUARY 13, 2018.

SERIES PAYOUT:

1-29 PAID PARTICIPANTS = PAY OUT THREE (3) PLACES.

30-75 PAID PARTICIPANTS = PAY OUT FIVE (5) PLACES.

LEGAL TACKLE/BAIT:

ARTIFICIAL BAITS ONLY SCENTS, LURES, AND MARKERS ARE ALLOWED.

COMMERCIALLY MARKETED SCENT-INFUSED BAITS ARE ALLOWED. NO LIVE OR DEAD ALLOWED BAIT. CHUMMING IS NOT ALLOWED.

All fish must be caught using a hook, line, rod and reel. No trot lines, set lines, yo-yo, gill nets, hoop nets, drop lines, etc... are allowed.

PADDLE/PEDDLE - CRAFT ONLY:

No trolling motors, sails, gas engines, "mothership"...

Tandem kayaks, canoes, pirogues, paddleboards are allowed.

A participant may wade fish or fish from the bank as long as they remain within 100' of their LAUNCHED paddle craft. With regard to this rule, "launched" means your kayak is off your vehicle/trailer and that a portion of the paddle craft is in fishable waters (not a parking lot puddle).

LEGAL FISHING TIME:

Your first cast is not allowed until on months, January, February, March, November and December,

6:00 AM - Early fishing = disqualification.

Your first cast is not allowed until on months, April, May, June, July, August, September, October,

5:00 AM Early fishing = disqualification.

REMINDER: YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR DISPLAYING SAFE LIGHT AND FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY.

RULE CHANGES:

Interpretation of rules is exclusively left to PAC KAYAK RENTALS, LLC. The decisions of this group are final in all matters and are not subject to appeal. Please do what you can not to put them in a position where they have to make rulings, decisions, etc..... Keep it simple and keep it clean. When in doubt, do the "right" thing.

PAC KAYAK RENTAL WILL BE POSTING A BOARD WITH NAMES AND WEIGHTS STARTING THE LAST DAY OF EACH MONTH. EACH MONTH WE WILL UPDATE IT ONLINE.

Upon arrival at PAC KAYAK RENTAL,(179 Paw Paw Court Montegut, La. 70377)

You will need to sign in at the tent and line up for the weigh-in. Please have your fish ready to present not mixed with twenty others on a 20" long stringer or buried deep in your cooler bag. The sign-in table and scales will be operational by approximately 1:00PM. You must be properly signed in prior to 3:00PM. Ties will go to the person with the earliest sign-in. DO NOT BE LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!

TOURNAMENT WEIGHT - SIZE LIMITS:

All competitors must check in with legal fish as per LWFD regulations to be eligible for awards and prizes. All fish presented at time of weigh-in must meet PAC KAYAK RENTALS, LLC tournament size requirements. Any fish presented to weigh-master that does not meet minimum/maximum size requirements will not be accepted as a tournament entry. A replacement fish will be allowed but has to be in your physical possession. You are not allowed to leave your position at the weigh table. If a second fish is presented and does not meet minimum/maximum tournament requirements it will result in an immediate disqualification of the angler from the tournament. All gross negligence of the minimum/maximum tournament size limits will result in an immediate disqualification and the PAC KAYAK RENTAL LLC weigh-master and Tournament Director will have final decision. Any attempt to enter a fraudulent catch, exchange catches with another angler, tamper with catch or to hamper or threaten any official of the tournament will result in an immediate disqualification. Only authorized persons will be allowed in the sign-in and weigh-in stations. In the event of a tie, the participants who signed in first will be considered the winner and the other participant will be dropped to the next position. Fish will be bent and loosened before being measured to obtain maximum length. When a contestant appears at the weigh-in table, ONLY those fish he/she possesses at that time may be weighed.

Participants are strictly prohibited from taking any action to alter the length or weight of their catch other than to place the ENTIRE fish in an appropriate container containing ice and water. "Air Drying" of the fish, the tail of the fish or any part of the fish is strictly prohibited. NOTICE: This rule carries over to the persons standing in line waiting for their turn a the weight table. Only fish that are kept in an appropriate container with ice/water, will be accepted.

WATER COURTESY/ENCROACHMENT:

Apply the golden rule do your best not to disturb someone else's fishing area by encroachment, noise, etc...if you encounter another angler in a narrow ingress/egress area, as quietly as you can, ask which side he or she would like you to cross. Generally, good rule of thumb is that if you can both cast to a common point you have encroached.

PROTEST:

All protest must be made to a PAC KAYAK RENTAL, LLC. official within 30 minutes of the closing of the weigh station. PAC KAYAK RENTAL, LLC. will consider protests and determine what, if any action is required. PACK KAYAK RENTAL, LLC. is the final authority in all considerations. All anglers are encouraged to report violations. Cheating in a fishing tournament is a crime in the state of Louisiana. PAC KAYAK RENTAL,LLC. has a zero tolerance policy with regard to cheating.

POLYGRAPHS:

Any participant and / or prize category winner maybe requested to submit to a polygraph examination for any reason. Any refusal to submit to testing will result in immediate disqualification from the tournament, forfeiture of any and all prizes and potential banishment from all future PAC KAYAK RENTAL, LLC events. Any inability to submit to a polygraph examination, for what ever reason, will result in a forfeiture of any award. Participants must remain available to take a polygraph exam if chosen. PAC KAYAK RENTAL, LLC. has no obligation whatsoever to explain why a particular person is selected to take a polygraph examination. If asked to submit to a polygraph exam a participant must comply or forfeit. No refunds for tournament fees will be granted for person refusing to submit to a polygraph examination or who for persons who are unavailable for polygraph testing at the time the tests are administered prior to award presentations on the of day of the tournament. There is no appeal process for person who might fail reuse or be unavailable for polygraph examination. No awards will be granted to any person who does not pass a polygraph examination if hey are requested to take one.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE:

A waiver, release of liability, and covenant not sue are part of the entry form. It is required that all contestants take responsibility for themselves while participating in event activities.

PARTICIPATION AND ELIGIBILITY:

Participation is open to anyone 18 years of age or older and to minors who are eligible to participate with a parent or legal guardian. That parent or guardian, not PAC KAYAK RENTALS, LLC. IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFETY AND WELL-BEING OF THAT MINOR. All participants represent that they are physically and mentally competent and fit and able to participate. By entering, all participants agree to assume ALL responsibilities of personal injury, death, and damage to or loss of property and further agree to indemnify and hold PAC KAYAK RENTAL, LLC. its officers, members, agent, and sponsors harmless from an against any and all claims, disqualification from tournament. Disqualification will be determined by the TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR based on investigation of any specific incident.
